I’ve always had a fascination with color and design and I had some great art teachers growing up who taught me the basics. My first art gig was painting fun flower pots as a side hustle while I earned a business degree at UNC Wilmington. After graduation I tried the practical route, but working for a huge corporation wasn’t for me, and I quickly jumped ship. Since then, I’ve found all kinds of ways to leverage my love of design and color, working as a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown, curating fashion displays at Monkee’s of the Pines, designing jewelry, and lending my design eye to my husband’s landscaping business. Nineteen years ago, I took on my biggest job of all when I became a mom to my first born Ally. Sweet Cameron came along a few years later, making our family complete. 

 

For many years, painting and design took a backseat to the daily demands of motherhood, but I found a rewarding outlet in creating a nurturing home for our girls. And in the midst of playdates and carpools and endless laundry loads, I’ve also enjoyed putting my creative skills to work for a variety of beloved charities and nonprofits over the years. I never stopped doodling and dreaming, and my personal aesthetic kept evolving.

 

The girls are growing up and while I’ll always be a mom first, I’m not on duty 24-7 anymore. I’ve been having fun in the studio again and it’s been so rewarding to see all the influences of the past few decades come together in the finished pieces that have found homes across North Carolina and around the nation.
